A little more about myself including my QualificationsMy background I was born in South London and spent my early years there before settling in Brixton. Eventually, I made my way to Bradford in West Yorkshire, where I’ve enjoyed living for quite some time now. My journey in the helping professions began in residential homes, first with adolescents and then in a women's refuge. In the 1980s, I trained as a therapist and have been dedicated to this work ever since, achieving accreditation and later a Fellowship with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I now live in to a village near Bradford, between Bingley and Keighley. I’ve built a thriving practice, offering both face-to-face and online therapy. Throughout my career, I’ve also enjoyed teaching, from assertiveness training for primary school children to postgraduate education. Currently, I focus on providing therapy, supervision, and writing about ethical issues within the profession. Recently, I completed additional training to support individuals who are blind or partially sighted, as well as their families and friends. I believe that the challenges faced by one person often ripple out to affect those who care about them. Main Professional and Educational Qualifications PGCE (Hudderfield:1993) MA in Counselling (Leeds: 2000) Awards Fellow of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA, now called Advance HE) |
